Maccabi Tel Aviv and head coach Oded Kattash are reportedly very close to agreeing on a two-year contract extension, according to ONE. Kattash’s current deal with the Israeli powerhouse is set to expire at the end of the season.
The report arrives the day after Maccabi‘s loss to Hapoel Jerusalem in the Israeli State Cup Final. Regardless of that result, the Yellows have full confidence in Kattash and want to continue together in the coming years.
Despite being based in Belgrade, Serbia for the whole EuroLeague season after the October 7 Hamas attack, Maccabi managed to advance to the playoffs via the Play-in tournament. They were eliminated 2-3 to Panathinaikos Athens while missing leading scorer Wade Baldwin for most of the series.
This run, as well as the fact that Maccabi made the postseason in back-to-back years after Kattash took over, played a role in the club’s decision to proceed with the Israeli coach moving forward.
