Jerian Grant is the unsung hero of Panathinaikos backcourt due to his defensive presence.
That’s why, even if he understands that Thomas Walkup was the final choice, he believes that he should have won it: “At the end of the day, they gave it to him, but I feel that I deserved it. It is what it is, that happens all the time with awards, congrats to Walkup, but I just go out here and do my job”.
However, right now, the focus is elsewhere.
Grant agreed that the semifinal against Fenerbahce is one of the biggest games of his career: “ I would say so, to be two games away from a championship like this on the professional level, it’s up there with the best experiences in my career”.
After all, you would understand this even by walking on the streets of Athens.
“People were saying bring home the 7th star, win it in Berlin”, Grant admitted as Panathinaikos is making a thunderous return to the Final Four stage after 12 years.
