BERLIN – Sergio Llull was the player who decided last season’s final against Olympiacos.
So even when he was asked to predict who would win the semifinal game between Fenerbahce and Panathinaikos, his reply was about the Reds.
“No prediction, we are focused on our semifinal”, said Llull, adding: “Olympiacos is a really good team and they will make things really hard for us”.
Llull, a three-time EuroLeague champion, who has beaten Olympiacos twice in a EuroLeague final, is one of the last European stars who didn’t try his luck in the NBA.
He remained in Real Madrid, becoming the biggest modern icon in the basketball section of the club.
Speaking about the rest of the tournament, which decides the EuroLeague champion, Llull added: “The four teams that made it to the Final Four deserve to be here and the other semifinal is going to be very close as well, they are two great teams”.
