Nick Calathes to continue with Monaco, which is still to find an agreement with Mike James

A reported two-year deal between Monaco and Nick Calathes is all but signed, Eurohoops sources confirm.

The rumor about an agreement has been circulating for a few days now, and it is true. This means that Calathes, after taking fourth place in Berlin, will fight for the Turkish championship and then say goodbye after two seasons in Istanbul.

The EuroLeague all-time assists and steals leader played eight years for Panathinaikos but also had stints with Lokomotiv Kuban and the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA. After leaving Athens in 2020, he joined Barcelona and spent two years there before signing with Fenerbahce.

The EuroLeague champion in 2011 with Panathinaikos has played in 358 matches in the top continental competition, averaging nine points, 5.8 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.3 steals.

Calathes will therefore join Sasa Obradovic‘s team. However, Monaco doesn’t have a deal yet with Mike James, despite a substantial three-year offer.

The EuroLeague all-time top scorer and 2024 MVP spent three years with Monaco, leading the French team to third place at the 2023 Final Four in Kaunas and winning the LNB Pro A League in 2023.

The two sides are negotiating an extension but have yet to reach an agreement for James to stay with the Roca Team.
