Is the EuroLeague MVP giving his flowers to the EuroLeague Final Four MVP? Yes, that’s what happened.
Tweeting on his personal X profile, Mike James praised Kostas Sloukas after becoming only the second player ever capable of winning the EuroLeague with three different teams (Olympiacos, Fenerbahce, and Panathinaikos).
“OK, I’m not saying that Sloukas is The Goat or My Goat BUT he has to start getting mentioned in the conversation. Just my opinion”, he shared.
Later on under his main tweet, Mike James continued by adding other valuable names to the debate. “[Anthony] Parker played for two years. That can’t be goat talk to me. Longevity counts. He was amazing in those two years but not enough body of work. 3D [Dimitris Diamantidis] and Span [Vassilis Spanoulis] are two of the main candidates but [Kostas] Sloukas gets a mention for sure”, he mentioned.
This year’s EuroLeague MVP couldn’t participate in the EuroLeague Final Four in Berlin after averaging 17.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game between the Regular Season and Playoffs. Kostas Sloukas was a key factor for the Greens, scoring 24 points against Real Madrid in the big final.
In their two exchanges this season, Kostas Sloukas won both of them, as Panathinaikos got the victory both on the road thanks to Marius Grigonis’ huge buzzer-beater and at home with a dominant display by Mathias Lessort.
