Ricky Rubio paused his basketball career last summer to attend to his mental health but returned to the court in February, signing for Barcelona.

A bit more than three months later, he finished the season losing to Real Madrid in the ACB Semifinals 0-3, and after the game, he talked about his future with the club.

I have no idea. I don’t want to decide in the heat of the moment; I will take a few weeks with a clear head to evaluate everything. It hasn’t been easy, and now it’s difficult to decide in the heat of the moment,” Rubio said, Diario SPORT reports.

He reflected on the elimination in the ACB Semifinals and the 2023/24 season overall.

These months, I’ve felt strange; I’ve wanted to change some things. Coming in the middle of the season is not easy, my way of being, more reserved and not feeling 100%. I don’t think I’ve been everything I expected, but I didn’t have any expectations either, but it’s clear that the balance is not good,” Rubio explained.

Rubio also talked about the level of officiating in the ACB League.

I wouldn’t say it was against us, but in general. If we want to have one of the best leagues in the world, we also have to have a high level in all aspects. I don’t think that has been the case, but I wouldn’t attribute the 3-0 solely to the referees,” Ricky Rubio concluded.
