Talking during the LNB Finals against Paris Basketball, the EuroLeague MVP revealed what would be his dream

Getting up 1-0 in the LNB Finals series against Paris Basketball, Mike James and AS Monaco have the opportunity to double the domestic league success after last year’s triumph against Metropolitans 92.

Midway through the series, a joint press conference with the American guard and head coach Sasa Obradovic was organized, with BeBasket collecting the quotes.

The first shared his similarities with the fellow one. “Both of us are only interested in winning. He’s one of the few who takes defeat even worse than me. I respect him for that. Since day one, we have had a good relationship and it has only gotten better over the years”, he said.

The EuroLeague MVP also revealed what would be his dream with this jersey. “This is my third season in Monaco and it would be great to continue here to win the EuroLeague with the same coach. That would be the dream. It is the objective. But it seems so far away now when we have Match 2 of the LNB Finals tomorrow”, Mike James added, thinking about the future.

Asking him about his staying in Monaco, therefore, was only consequential. “We always want to stay in good situations and accomplish our goals, to go all the way with a team. However, I don’t think I have reached the end of the road with Monaco. But you never know. I hope that we will win this title of champion of France and we will see afterward. Nothing is finalized in any case”, he also shared.

After playing in last year’s EuroLeague Final Four in Kaunas with AS Monaco, the 33-year-old guard couldn’t bring his team to Berlin in 2024, as they suffered a defeat in Game 5 against Fenerbahce. He concluded his first season as EuroLeague MVP with 17.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game.
