The news was in the air and now it finally became official: Barcelona decided to terminate Roger Grimau’s contract, which would have originally expired in June 2025.
In his first-ever head coaching season after replacing Sarunas Jasikevicius on Barcelona’s bench in the summer of 2023, Roger Grimau hasn’t managed to win any trophy, losing in the EuroLeague Playoffs against Olympiacos, and in the ACB Semi-Finals, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Supercup to Real Madrid.
“FC Barcelona would like to publicly express its gratitude to Roger Grimau for the professionalism, commitment, and dedication he has shown at the head of the Barcelona bench. The Palau Blaugrana will always be his home”, the Catalan side thanked its former coach.
