A newcomer for Baskonia in the form of Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot.

Luwawu-Cabarrot, 29, signed a two-year contract, the team announced on Wednesday. He emerged as the second offseason addition to the roster of the Basque club, following Kamar Baldwin.

The French forward was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 24th overall pick of the 2016 NBA draft. From the Sixers to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Chicago Bulls, Brooklyn Nets, and Atlanta Hawks, he went on to log 343 appearances in the league based in North America, including 15 in the Playoffs.

In the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, he joined EA7 Emporio Armani Milan for the 2022-23 season and switched to LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne on a one-year contract last summer. Averaging 13.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.1 steals per contest over 28 games played, including 20 starts, he ranked fifth in performance index rating across the French club. At 9-25 in the Regular Season, his side finished 17th out of 18 teams.

Resurfacing in domestic competitions of his home country, eight years after leaving the Antibes Sharks, the native of Cannes tallied 12.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 39 games played, including 38 in the Betclic Elite. ASVEL ranked third in the Regular Season of France’s top-flight division and was eliminated by Paris in the Semifinals of the Playoffs.

Beyond his club career, Luwawu-Cabarrot represented France at the senior level in the 2020 Olympic Games and the 2022 FIBA EuroBasket. He earned additional caps in the Qualifiers of the 2023 World Cup and 2025 EuroBasket.
