Signing with the team midway through the season after leaving Milan in controversy, Kevin Pangos won’t continue playing for Valencia next season, whether the team will end up playing in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague or in the BKT EuroCup.

The Spanish club has “decided not to execute the option to extend the contract” of the Canadian point guard, who will now enter free agency to find a new club.

Since moving to Valencia, the 31-year-old playmaker spent only 13:34 minutes on the court per game over 12 appearances, averaging 1.9 points and 2.3 assists per game, unable to make an impact.

Moving overseas in 2015 after ending his college career with the Gonzaga Bulldogs, he first played in Gran Canaria before heading to Zalgiris Kaunas (2016-18) and Barcelona (2018-20). He shone in Zenit Saint Petersburg under coach Xavi Pascual, being named into the 2020-21 All-EuroLeague First Team.

Later on, he earned a call from the NBA, where he played limited time with the Cleveland Cavaliers and their G-League associate team Cleveland Charge, before coming back to Europe in 2022 to sign with Milan. However, things didn’t work out either in Italy and later on in Spain.
