Last year Kevin Punter was a free agent and had a deal with Barcelona that was never completed.
This summer, he had a contract with the Serbian club for the next season, however, Partizan decided to release him and he will finally join Barcelona.
As Eurohoops sources confirm, after a tense day, since the news about Barcelona’s impending deal was reported today, Partizan agreed to release the player who had a contract for $2,6 million for next year, one of the top EuroLeague deals of last summer, without getting any buyout.
If things were different Punter would want to stay with Partizan, and honor his contract, but this proved to be the end for both sides.
Punter will get a similar salary from Barcelona for a multiyear deal and Partizan decided to let him go.
Kevin Punter joined Partizan in 2021 and, after two seasons, signed a contract extension for two more last summer.
During the 2023/24 season, he averaged 15 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in the EuroLeague for the Black and Whites, being their leading scorer and the eighth-best scorer in the continental competition.
