Set to move his talents to AS Monaco, Juhann Begarin will be upgraded to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

Begarin, 21, signing with La Roca Team was reported by Chema de Lucas on Saturday.

In 2021, he was selected by the Boston Celtics with the 45th overall pick of the NBA draft. He made his way to the 2021 and 2022 installments of the Summer League but did not join the team last summer. He instead left Paris to sign a two-year contract with Nanterre 92. In 2023-24, he is heading to back-to-back Betclic Elite champion, Monaco.

Under the guidance of Pascal Donnadieu, in the last year of a 37-year stint with the experienced tactician at the helm of Nanterre, Begarin piled up 7.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.2 steals per contest over 39 appearances across all competitions in France. His side qualified for the Betclic Playoffs Playoffs and reached the championship game of the Leaders Cup but fell to JL Bourg and Paris, respectively.

Begarin is not part of the plan of France, heading to the 2024 Olympic Games this summer. However, he debuted at the senior level in the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers. Earlier junior international experience extended from the 2018 U16 FIBA European Championship to the 2019 U18 FIBA European Championship.

Monaco recently re-signed Mike James and is expected to boost the wing with Nick Calathes. Considering more players to be confirmed during the offseason, there is little room left for Begarin to display his talents. Playing time at his new team will presumably be decided closer to the completion of the 2024-25 roster.
