It’s confirmed that Paris Basketball will play in the EuroLeague next season as EuroCup winners, but the French side could have a coaching change before debuting in the top continental competition.
As Arale Wisberg of Walla Sport reported, coach Tuomas Iisalo is expected to join the Washington Wizards’ coaching staff in the NBA, and Eurohoops confirms that Petar Bozic is a candidate to replace him.
Former Partizan, Austin Spurs, and London Lions coach could therefore debut in the EuroLeague with Paris, while after having great success in Europe, Finnish tactician Iisalo is on his way to moving overseas.
Iisalo led Paris to EuroCup and French Leaders Cup triumphs, while also making it to the Betclic Elite finals, where his side eventually lost to Monaco.
Interestingly, Paris eliminated Bozic’s Lions in the EuroCup semifinal.
After winning the NBA G League with Austin Spurs in 2018, he claimed the British throne this season with the London team.
