After going really close to switching sides and moving to Barcelona in the summer of 2023, the time has finally come for Kevin Punter to officially join the Catalan powerhouse.

Being released without any financial compensation from Partizan Belgrade, where he stayed for three years and became captain of the black-and-white Serbian team, the 31-year-old guard will now play for the first time in his career in Spain.

Trying to push Zeljko Obradovic’s team to the EuroLeague Playoffs after going very close to the 2023 Final Four, Kevin Punter averaged 15.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in the last EuroLeague season. It was a trophyless year for the Serbian powerhouse.

After leaving Tennessee in 2016, he started his overseas career with Lavrio before joining Antwerp, Rosa Radom, AEK, Virtus Bologna, Olympiacos, Crvena Zvezda, Milan, and finally Partizan. He won the Basketball Champions League and made it twice to the All-ABA First Team and once to the All-EuroCup and All-EuroLeague Second Team, respectively in 2022 and 2023 with Partizan.

He’s not the only player leaving the black-and-white side to change teams ahead of the 2024-25 season, as he will cross paths next year with Zach LeDay, his former teammate in Milan and Partizan, who signed a two-year deal to return to the red-and-white Italian team.
