Emerging as a potential summer signing for FC Barcelona, Dylan Osetkowski can be on the way out of the reigning Basketball Champions League champion Unicaja.

The Catalonia giant has opened negotiations with Osetkowski, according to insider Oscar Herreros. A potential transfer would correspond to compensation for the Malaga outfit, as noted.

Osetkowski, 27, spent the last two years at Unicaja and was among the key players in winning the 2023 Copa del Rey, besides a similar contribution in the 2023-24 edition of the Champions League. Averaging 10.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.7 steals per game painted the picture of his efforts in the latest championship run of Unicaja. Combined with his first season, he played in 31 games of FIBA Europe’s top-tier club continental competition.

In the latest edition of Spain’s Liga Endesa, Osetkowski averaged 11.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per contest over 39 games played. The team coached by Ibon Navarro ranked first in the Regular Season but was eliminated in the Semifinals of the ACB Playoffs by UCAM Murcia in a best-of-five series, featuring wins for the away team across all five fixtures.

From Tulane in Texas in the NCAA, pursuing overseas options for a professional career led to Germany and France, before landing in Malaga. He went from BG Gottingen and ratiopharm Ulm to LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne and the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. Two successful campaigns later, he can resurface in Europe’s premier club continental competition.
