After appointing Joan Peñarroya on its bench and announcing the huge arrival of Kevin Punter, Barcelona is making new moves to shape next year’s roster in both the ACB and the EuroLeague.
Providing only 3.4 points and 2.7 rebounds per game in the EuroLeague over 14:39 minutes of playing time in 37 encounters, the 25-year-old forward Oscar da Silva won’t continue with the Catalan team, that exercised the release clause in his contract, originally expiring in June 2025.
Born in Munich, after four years of college basketball at Stanford, he debuted professionally with MHP-Riesen Ludwigsburg before moving in 2021-22 to ALBA Berlin. According to BIG’s Robert Heusel, he’s set to join Pablo Laso’s Bayern Munich.
He’s not the only player whose departure was officially announced by Barcelona. Yesterday, Oriol Pauli’s contract was revealed not to be extended, and on June 30 he will be free to find an agreement elsewhere.
Returning home in 2022 after spending time in Gran Canaria and MoraBanc Andorra, the Catalan wingman spent only 6:39 minutes per encounter in a total of 14 appearances in the EuroLeague. He had 2.4 points per game in such span.
