Ending his second season with Maccabi Tel Aviv on a high note by winning the Israeli championship in back-to-back fashion, Josh Nebo officially left the yellow-and-blue powerhouse, where he had been playing since the summer of 2022.
He was then announced during the day as the newest member of Ettore Messina’s Olimpia Milan, joining the Italian side on a two-year deal. “It’s a new chapter of my career and I’m very enthusiastic. Let’s build something special here”, he said.
In the 2023-24 EuroLeague, the American center – who has now been naturalized as a Slovenian citizen and is attending the national team’s training camp ahead of the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Greece – averaged 11.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.
Just like Josh Nebo, other core players should be leaving. Lorenzo Brown found an agreement to join Panathinaikos, while Bonzie Colson and Wade Baldwin IV appear to be in negotiations with Fenerbahce, moving to Turkey under Sarunas Jasikevicius.
Before signing with Maccabi back in 2022, he had a promising debuting season in the EuroLeague with Zalgiris Kaunas, putting up 8.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per night in 2021-22.
