Nick Lotsos, the manager of Sasha Vezenkov, opened up on Panathinaikos Aktor and Olympiacos following the 28-year-old forward of the Sacramento Kings.

“Panathinaikos called me sometimes and expressed interest,” he said in an interview with the Greek newspaper Fos, “I told them that both Vezenkov and myself want to see if he will continue in the NBA first. If he leaves the NBA, we will give priority to his last European team, Olympiacos, in discussions. If negotiations do not succeed, then we will probably open talks with other teams.”

“Olympiacos has shown great interest for his return if he does not remain in the NBA,” he added, “Far from negotiations, I think they are willing to do something quite serious.”

The 2022-23 season MVP of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with the Reds is expected to move on from the Kings after one year in Sacramento.

“Knowing him since he was 18, money is not the only thing that matters to him. Playing conditions and contending for championships also play an equally important role. This applies whether he plays in the NBA or the Euroleague,” said Lotsos.

Tyler Dorsey talks

Besides Vezenkov, Lotsos also talked about the future of Tyler Dorsey.

“He is currently in contact with Olympiacos,” he mentioned, “He still has a contract with Fenerbahce, but the team is aware of talks with Olympiacos and other European teams.”

Dorsey, 28, has a contract with Fenerbahce Beko for the 2024-25 season. Among his former teams, his spell with Olympiacos lasted through the 2021-22 season.

“All three sides want the move to happen, Fener to get out of his contract, Dorsey to go to Olympiacos, and Olympiacos to get Dorsey who has a Greek passport,” he explained, “I believe we will find a solution.”
