Ending his yellow-and-blue chapter in Fenerbahce after winning the Turkish league but failing to deliver at the 2024 EuroLeague Final Four, Tyler Dorsey is set to return to Olympiacos on a two-year deal according to Eurohoops sources. He had 8.7 points per game in last year’s EuroLeague.

Having already played in Piraeus during the 2021-22 season, winning the domestic double with Olympiacos but losing in the EuroLeague Semi-Finals to Anadolu Efes, this marks a comeback to the Peace and Friendship Stadium for the 28-year-old sharpshooter.

Playing with a Greek passport, it’s a huge addition for Georgios Bartzokas’ powerhouse also rotation-wise, after losing two players like Sasha Vezenkov and Kostas Sloukas, failing to incorporate an asset like Nazareth Mitrou-Long from Zalgiris Kaunas.

At EuroBasket 2022, he promised 13.6 points per game for Greece, while also boosting up 17.0 points and 4.3 assists per encounter over three appearances at the FIBA Basketball World Cup European Qualifiers. He didn’t make the roster for last year’s World Cup, and he wasn’t included by Vassilis Spanoulis for this year’s FIBA OQT list.

Back then with the Greek national team, he was coached by Dimitris Itoudis, who brought him back to Europe after his stint in the G-League with the Texas Legends, where he promised 21.6 points without earning opportunities in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks.
