Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet extended the contract of Yago Dos Santos until the end of the 2026-27 season.

The Belgrade outfit announced the contract extension on Friday.

Countering recent reports about his future with the Belgrade giant, the explosive Brazilian floor general committed to three additional seasons. Since joining Zvezda before the 2023-24 season, he has been crowned champion in the AdmiralBet ABA League, AdmiralBet Basketball League of Serbia, and Radivoj Korac Cup, contributing to a triple crown.

Upgraded to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with the team located in the capital of Serbia, Dos Santos tallied 8.7 points, 3.9 assists, and 2.0 rebounds per contest over 28 appearances, including 16 starts. His side finished the Regular Season with an 11-23 W-L tally, six games shy of a berth in the Play-In Showdown.

Using overseas options after starting his professional career in Brazil, he displayed his talents with ratiopharm Ulm in the 2022-23 installment of 7DAYS EuroCup and domestic competitions in Germany. Solid showings, including 13.0 points and 6.1 assists per game in Euroleague Basketball’s second-tier club continental competition created the opportunity to play in the EuroLeague.

Dos Santos, a regular with the senior national team of Brazil through recent years, is the fifth player to pen a contract extension during the offseason. Joel Bolomboy, Rokas Giedraitis, Branko Lazic, and Milos Teodosic previously re-signed, while Nikola Kalinic returned to Zvezda, and Isaiah Canaan, Mike Daum, and Uros Plavsic were added to the roster for head coach Giannis Sfairopoulos.
