Partizan Belgrade is working at full speed to form a largely new team for the upcoming 2024/25 season.
Three players are on the verge of joining the Serbian club: Sterling Brown, Tyrique Jones, and Mario Nakic.
After playing for the Milwaukee Bucks, Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks, and Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA, Brown joined ALBA Berlin last summer. After a season in Germany, he is moving his talents to Serbia, as confirmed by Eurohoops sources.
Brown, who averaged 11.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in his rookie EuroLeague season, is expected to sign a two-year deal with the team led by the most decorated European coach, Zeljko Obradovic.
As for Jones, it was previously reported that he’ll also continue his career with Partizan. The US center officially parted ways with Anadolu Efes after averaging 7.2 points and 4.3 rebounds in his debut EuroLeague season, making an expected move before signing a deal with Obradovic‘s team.
After Vanja Marinkovic, Gabriel Lundberg, Frank Ntilikina, Sterling Brown, and Tyrique Jones, former Real Madrid player Mario Nakic is also on his way to put on a black and white jersey, as Meridian Sport first reported.
Nakic, a son of former Partizan player Ivo Nakic, will allegedly sign a three-year contract with the Belgrade team. He spent last season with Igokea, averaging 8.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in the ABA League.
Therefore, Partizan is making a huge shift from last season’s roster, with many players also leaving the club. For now, it was officially announced that the Serbian powerhouse parted ways with captain Kevin Punter, Zach LeDay, and Alen Smailagic, with them respectively joining Barcelona, Olimpia Milano, and Zalgiris.
