Released from his contract with Fenerbahce Beko, the next challenge for Tyler Dorsey was immediately confirmed, which is a reunion with Olympiacos.
The Istanbul outfit officially parted ways with Dorsey on Sunday evening. In a quick turnaround, the Reds announced his addition to the squad. The explosive guard penned a three-year deal, including an option for the last year of the contract.
Dorsey, 28, agreeing with Olympiacos was reported by Eurohoops on Thursday.
In 2021-22, during his first spell with the Greek powerhouse, the former Oregon standout helped his side reach the Final Four. Repeats in qualifying for the season-ending tournament of Europe’s premier club continental competition over the next two seasons made an ongoing three-year streak for the team coached by Giorgos Bartzokas.
Dorsey’s path instead led to the NBA and the Dallas Mavericks at the top of the 2022-23 season and from there to the Texas Legends in the G League. Using his overseas options in March, he joined Fener for the remainder of the campaign. Sticking around for the 2023-24 season, he averaged 8.7 points per contest over 38 games played in the EuroLeague, including 16 starts.
A veteran of 151 appearances in the EuroLeague, spread from Fenerbahce and Olympiacos to an earlier spell with Maccabi Tel Aviv, and of 107 games played in the NBA between the Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies, and Atlanta Hawks, he has also displayed his talents at the international level, representing Greece in the 2022 EuroBasket, among more caps.
