From 200 appearances in the NBA to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Shaquille Harrison joined LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne.

Harrison, 30, penned a one-year deal, the team announced on Tuesday.

Navigating spells with several teams in the league based in North America, the former Tulsa standout played for the Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls, Utah Jazz, Denver Nuggets, Brooklyn Nets, Portland Trail Blazers, and most recently the Memphis Grizzlies. In 2023-24, he was limited to three appearances with the Grizzlies, averaging 0.7 points per contest. Making his way to 43 games of the G League with the South Bay Lakers, he tallied 14.1 points, 6.8 assists, 5.9 rebounds, 2.7 steals, and 0.8 blocks per contest and was named Defensive Player of the Year for the second time.

Looking to bounce back from a poor 9-25 record in the 2023-24 installment of Europe’s premier club continental competition, the French club with Tony Parker as team president already welcomed fellow NBA veteran Admiral Schofield to the EuroLeague. Neal Sako is the other reinforcement so far in the offseason. Confirmed returning players for the team coached by Pierric Poupet are Charles Kahudi, David Lighty, Joffrey Lauvergne, and Mbaye Ndiaye.

Besides ranking next-to-last in the EuroLeague Regular Season, the Villeurbanne outfit was eliminated by Paris in the Semifinals of France’s Betclic Elite Playoffs, was knocked out by AS Monaco in Coupe de France’s Round of 16, and lost to Nanterre 92 in the Quarterfinals of the Leaders Cup across the domestic competitions of the 2023-24 campaign.
