On Thursday, LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne confirmed a spot for Edwin Jackson on the 2024-25 roster.

Jackson, 34, returned for a fourth stint in 2023. A youth product of ASVEL, he launched his professional career with the team based in a suburb of Lyon in 2007. He was back in 2010 following multiple loan assignments and left the team midway through the 2014-15 season to join FC Barcelona. The next reunion was limited to the 2019-20 season.

The 2023-24 campaign combined with his sixth season in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. He tallied 5.3 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per contest over 31 appearances. Finishing the Regular Season with a 9-25 W-L tally, ASVEL ranked 17th out of 18 teams.

At the domestic level, a 25-9 record was good enough for third place in the Regular Season of France’s Betclic Elite. Reaching the Semifinals of the Playoffs, ASVEL went the distance in a best-of-five series but was eliminated by Paris. Two more eliminations marked February with the latest expedition in the Coupe de France ended by back-to-back Betclic Elite champion AS Monaco, a few days before a knockout blow by Nanterre 92 in the opening round of the Leaders Cup.

Moving to the 2024-25 season, team president Tony Parker has welcomed three new players, including Admiral Schofield and Shaquille Harrison from the NBA, besides adding Neal Sako to the frontline for returning head coach Pierric Poupet. Before Jackson, Charles Kahudi also committed to one more season.
