ECA Shareholders confirm Bodiroga and Motiejunas as president and CEO

From the Board of Directors to the Shareholders, Euroleague Basketball president Dejan Bodiroga and CEO Paulius Motiejunas remain in their respective positions for four more years

Following up on a unanimous decision by the Board of Directors to extend the appointments of Euroleague Basketball president Dejan Bodiroga and chief executive officer Paulius Motiejunas for four more years each, the Euroleague Commercial Assets Shareholders completed necessary confirmation on Thursday.

Bodiroga, 51, was named president of Euroleague Basketball in September 2022.

Motiejunas, 43, was appointed CEO in June 2023.

The ECA Shareholders also approved the competition bylaws, the list of the teams, and the schedule for the 2024-25 editions of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and BKT EuroCup.

Numerous decisions extended to approving the financial report of the previous season and the new rules of the Financial Stability & Fair Play Regulations.

Also, the director of officiating, Daniel Hierrezuelo presented an officiating report on the 2023-24 season.

Per the press release: “The Euroleague Commercial Assets Shareholders, meeting on Thursday, July 4, 2024, has taken the following decisions:

• Confirmed the four-year appointment extension of the Euroleague Basketball President (Mr. Dejan Bodiroga) and CEO (Mr. Paulius Motiejunas)
• Approved the 2024-25 competitions bylaws.
• Approved the proposed lists of participating teams for the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and BKT EuroCup as well as the 2024-25 Euroleague Basketball competitions season calendar
• Approved the 2023-24 financial report.
• Approved the new rules of the Financial Stability & Fair Play Regulations

Additionally, ECA Shareholders received an officiating report on the 2023-24 season from the Director of Officiating, Daniel Hierrezuelo, which also included proposed improvements for refereeing recruitment, education, monitoring and technology protocols.”
