ASVEL continues building its roster for the upcoming 2024/25 season with the addition of the experienced center.
As officially announced by the club, Tarik Black has signed a deal for the upcoming season.
The 32-year-old joins the ranks of the French team after playing for Reggio Emilia in Italy last season, where he averaged 8.2 points and 4.4 rebounds in 15 appearances.
Black brings vast experience to the Villeurbanne team, with 220 NBA regular-season games under his belt and 85 EuroLeague appearances, averaging 8.3 points and 3.5 rebounds while playing for Maccabi Tel Aviv, Zenit St. Petersburg, and Olympiacos.
He also played briefly for Bahcesehir Koleji in 2022, winning the FIBA Europe Cup.
Nando De Colo stays in Villeurbanne
ASVEL made another important move by announcing that the experienced Nando De Colo is staying with the team.
“A legend of the Euroleague and French basketball, Nando will continue to bring all his class, playmaking, and experience to the group,” stated the official announcement of the French club.
The 37-year-old point guard joined the club in the summer of 2022, and last season he averaged 12.1 points and 4.1 assists in the top continental competition.
“I am very happy to see Nando continue the adventure with our club. We have deliberately built a younger team for the coming seasons; his experience at the very highest level will be necessary to guide everyone. With Nando, we have experienced great things together, and we are still determined to bring back trophies to expand the LDLC ASVEL list of achievements,” president Tony Parker said about the two-time EuroLeague champion.
