Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv made another important move before the 2024/25 season.

The Israeli champions announced that they exercised the option in the contract of Jasiel Rivero, who will continue with the club in the upcoming season.

“I am very happy to return for another season,” said Jasiel Rivero to the club’s official website. “I can’t wait to see all the fans again. Thanks for all the support, let’s go Maccabi!

Last season, the Cuban center averaged 7.6 points and 3.1 rebounds in the EuroLeague, and 12.1 points with 5.9 rebounds in the Israeli League regular season.

“Papi” Rivero joined Maccabi in the summer of 2023 after playing for two years in Valencia. The 30-year-old center from Havana started his pro career in his home country with Capitalinos, then played for Estudiantes Concordia and Boca Juniors in Argentina before moving to Spain in 2019 with San Pablo Burgos.
