Partizan Belgrade seems to be looking to add some superstar power with Will Clyburn. According to SportKlub, the former Final Four MVP is Partizan’s “biggest target” in the 2024 offseason and while the club is undergoing some serious changes.
After parting ways with several key players such as Kevin Punter, Zach LeDay, James Nunnally and Alen Smailagic, Partizan added guards Frank Ntilikina and Iffe Lundberg. Now, the Serbian powerhouse is looking for a veteran leader, a role that Clyburn could play.
Clyburn is arguably the hottest free agent in the market right now after parting ways with Anadolu Efes. Last season he averaged 13.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists in the EuroLeague along with 10.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists in the Turkish BSL League.
Efes failed to make the EuroLeague playoffs for the second straight season and lost to Fenerbahce BEKO in the BSL Finals. Upon the completion of Clyburn’s contract, Efes announced that he won’t continue with the club.
Before Efes, Clyburn emerged as one of the most elite all-around forwards in the EuroLeague with CSKA Moscow. He joined the club in 2016 and in 2019 he led them to the EuroLeague championship, winning Final Four MVP. He was named to the All-EuroLeague First Team that season and to the Second Team in 2021.
