AS Monaco’s backcourt renovation continues ahead of the 2024-25 season.
The Monegasque powerhouse acquired the talented 21-year-old French guard Juhann Begarin on a three-year deal. He’s coming off an LNB season with Nanterre where he had 7.5 points per encounter.
Grew up in INSEP Paris, where he played from 2017 to 2019, he stayed in the French capital with Paris Basketball until 2023. As said, he’s coming from his one and only season with Nanterre 92.
Juhann Begarin’s NBA rights belong to the Boston Celtics, which selected him with the 45th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. He also played with the franchise at the 2021 NBA Summer League.
Representing his country, he averaged 15.6 points per game at the 2018 FIBA U16 European Championship, while also playing the following year in the FIBA U18 European Championship.
Vincent Collet involved him on the road to the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, making sure he could collect at least four appearances in which Juhann Begarin put up 5.8 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.
