Jordan Loyd is officially a player of Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv.
Confirming a recent report shared by Eurohoops, the 30-year-old combo guard signed a two-year contract to join the Yellows.
His addition was announced on Sunday.
Per the press release: “Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv signed star guard Jordan Loyd on a two-year contract. The 30-years-old American (1.93 M, 6ft 4in) joins the yellows with a proven 5-year record in the EuroLeague as one of the top scorers in the competition. He will provide great athelticism, great shooting ability and a knack for winning in all levels.
“Maccabi fans, I played so many times in front of you in Tel Aviv, and I always knew that one day I will play for you”, shared Loyd, “It’s finally happening and I’m looking forward to the support and love. Let’s win a lot of games together. Yalla Maccabi!”.
Jordan Loyd was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 27th, 1993 – but later moved to Georgia and attended high school in Alpharetta, a suburb of Atlanta. After his freshman season with Furman University, he transfered to Indianapolis, starring for the Greyhounds with 20.9 PPG, 6.3 RPG and 2.5 APG in his senior year.
He began his pro career in the G-League, before spending a dominant season in Israel with Hapoel Eilat. In 2018 he was signed by the Toronto Raptors, playing 12 games and taking part in the championship season. Loyd was back in Europe since then, getting his first taste of EuroLeague action with Valencia. He later represented Crvena Zvezda, Zenit Saint Petersburg and Monaco, where he spent the previous two seasons. He holds career averages of 13.2 PPG, 2.9 RPG, and 2.9 APG in the top European competition.”
