Eurohoops previously reported that Usman Garuba is on his way back to Real Madrid, and now it seems everything is set for the return of the Spanish national team big man.

The 22-year-old teased his return to the Spanish capital on social media, writing “back soon,” along with the white circle emoji, suggesting that he’s on his way back to donning the white jersey of the Blancos.

Additionally, the post he made on social media a while ago denying that he would play for Real Madrid next season seems to have been deleted from his X account.

Newly signed Real Madrid player, Canadian Xavier Rathan-Mayes, also shared his excitement about the potential to link up with the talented Spaniard. These are clear signals that Garuba is ready to play for the Spanish giants once again.

He started his career with Real Madrid in 2017, and after four years, he moved to the NBA with the Houston Rockets as the No. 23 pick in the 2021 Draft. Three years and 105 NBA appearances later, everything points to his return to European basketball with his former club.

While playing for the Spanish champions, Usman Garuba won the EuroLeague Rising Star award, the ACB championship, the Supercopa, and was honored as the Best Young Player of the Endesa League.

Representing the Spanish national team, he won a gold medal at the 2022 EuroBasket and had significant success in youth categories, with two European golds and one silver.
