The Lithuanian forward is expected to come back to Kaunas after a short experience with Olympiacos

After switching sides from Zalgiris Kaunas to Olympiacos, Ignas Brazdeikis is expected to return to Lithuania despite having a contract until 2026 with the Greek powerhouse. Basket News first reported about the deal.

Moving to the red-and-white Greek powerhouse alongside Nazareth Mitrou-Long at the beginning of the 2023-24 EuroLeague season, he couldn’t succeed under head coach Georgios Bartzokas, only averaging 3.6 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per game.

Joining Zalgiris Kaunas for his first-ever EuroLeague season in the 2022-23 campaign, he had an impressive showing with 11.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.3 assists as a rookie.

In his short stint with Olympiacos, the 25-year-old forward won a Greek Cup and a Greek Supercup. In the 2022-23 season with Zalgiris Kaunas, his first overseas campaign, he won the double in Lithuania.

With the Lithuanian national team, he contributed to reaching the 6th position at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 by averaging 11.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. He first internationally represented his country at FIBA EuroBasket 2022 with 10.7 points per game.
