There are only a couple of months and a half before the start of the 2024-25 EuroLeague Regular Season, the the official calendar was finally revealed.
With the format remaining unchanged from last season, with 34 rounds of home-and-away action for all EuroLeague teams prior to the Play-In Showdown, Playoffs series, and EuroLeague Final Four, the stage is set for a new exciting season in the most important European competition.
According to the official press release by the EuroLeague, “the season will begin exactly where the previous one finished; Uber Arena in the German capital will see host ALBA Berlin take on defending champion Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens at 18:45 CET on Thursday, October 2”.
Moreover, “later that night, FC Bayern Munich will christen its brand-new home, SAP Garden, against 2024 runner-up Real Madrid. The following evening, Paris Basketball will become the newest team to compete in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague when it hosts Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade”.
Talking about derbies, the first one of the season will “take place in Istanbul in Round 2 when Anadolu Efes hosts crosstown rival Fenerbahce Beko”. Panathinaikos and Olympiacos will first square off in Round 8 in OAKA, Partizan and Crvena Zvezda in Round 11, and Real Madrid and Barcelona in Round 12.
Finally, “the regular season will draw to a close on April 11, 2025, by which time the top six teams will have already clinched playoff berths and the next four will be on their way to the Play-in Showdown. The Play-In games will take place on Tuesday, April 15, and Friday, April 18”.
The best-of-five-game playoff series begins on Tuesday, April 22, and they “will end no later than Wednesday, May 7, if any of the series go the distance”. The EuroLeague Final Four, whose location is yet to be revealed, will be played between May 23-25, 2025.
