Bayern Munich announced another addition to its backcourt with the signing of 23-year-old Israeli point guard Yam Madar.

As the German champions officially announced, the former Partizan and Fenerbahce player inked a two-year deal to join them.

With the experience of the past two years, I will give everything to hopefully be an even better player. Bayern is a historic club that everyone in Europe knows. I will show this club the appropriate respect and give 100 percent in every game so that we can win as many games as possible. In the BBL, we want to build on what we achieved last season, and in the EuroLeague, we will attack the top 8. I am excited about this new challenge,” Madar said.

Madar spent two years with Partizan, working under coach Zeljko Obradovic, and was named EuroLeague Rising Star in the 2022/23 season.

Last summer, he moved his talents to Fenerbahce Beko, playing around 13 minutes per game for the Final Four participant (4.3 ppg, 2 apg), contributing 11.2 points (46.3% three-pointers) and 5.4 assists to the team’s win in the Turkish championship.

Yam has been on our list for a long time; we had an intensive exchange last year, and we are very happy that it worked out this time. He is a player who is still very young but has already gained a lot of experience and has always played at the highest level in his career. His energy, fighting spirit, and dedication to the game, coupled with his game intelligence and good experience in the EuroLeague, will be very helpful for us next season,” said Bayern’s managing director, Marko Pesic.

Before signing Madar, Bayern also added Kevin Yebo from Niners Chemnitz and Oscar da Silva from Barcelona, and extended contracts with Nick Weiler-Babb and Elias Harris.

Several players left the team, including Sylvain Francisco (to Zalgiris), Leandro Bolmaro (to Olimpia Milano), as well as Carsen Edwards, Isaac Bonga, and Serge Ibaka, while coach Pablo Laso took over at Baskonia.
