One of Maccabi Tel Aviv‘s most important players down the line in last year’s EuroLeague officially left the yellow-and-blue Israeli powerhouse.
We’re talking about Antonius Cleveland, whose future is still unclear. The 30-year-old guard is coming off his first rookie season in the EuroLeague by averaging 5.4 points and 1.7 rebounds per game.
After Lorenzo Brown and Wade Baldwin IV, another player on Maccabi Tel Aviv‘s backcourt left the Israeli side. In exchange, Jordan Loyd and Jaylen Hoard joined Oded Kattash’s team on two-year deals.
Before coming to Europe, Antonius Cleveland was named NBL Defensive Player of the Year in back-to-back fashion in 2022 and 2023. He respectively played in those seasons with the Illawarra Hawks and with the Adelaide 36ers.
In the past, he also played here and there in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks and the Atlanta Hawks, while also making appearances in the G-League with several franchises. Prior to his move to Maccabi Tel Aviv, he already spent time in Israel with Hapoel Eilat.
