Polish center Olek Balcerowski is staying with Panathinaikos for another season despite reports linking him to Unicaja Malaga.
Two-time EuroCup Rising Star honoree expressed satisfaction with continuing to fight for the EuroLeague champions.
“I am happy that I stayed at Panathinaikos. It wasn’t that I wanted to leave. It was more their decision, and I was waiting for what Panathinaikos would decide. They finally decided I should stay, which made me happy,” Balcerowski said to La Opinión de Málaga.
He played 24 EuroLeague games last season, averaging less than eight minutes on the court, with 2.8 points and 1.3 rebounds per game. However, he had a bigger role in the Greek League, appearing in 21 games and averaging 6.3 points and 4.3 rebounds.
“The end of the season was a bit bittersweet for me because you always want to play and be available for the team. But I’m happy that we won the EuroLeague and the championship, and I’m happy to continue with the team to fight for my playing time. I’m very motivated.“
