He spent seven years playing for Crvena Zvezda, winning four ABA League titles and many domestic trophies in Serbia.

Last summer, Ognjen Dobrić left for Virtus Bologna, but after a season, he officially returned to the Belgrade team and signed a three-year deal.

I am very glad to have returned to Zvezda because Zvezda is Zvezda. It’s something special to me. I am happy to be part of the family again, and everything should be as it should be so we can achieve results like in previous seasons. I hope we stay healthy. We have a great team, and I think everything will be great,” Dobrić said to Meridian Sport after Crvena Zvezda announced his return.

Dobrić has played 435 games in the red and white jersey during his seven-year stint, and he is in third place on the all-time list for the number of games played. He has scored 3,669 points, played 165 European matches, and is one of Crvena Zvezda’s top scorers in European games with 1,171 points.

I expected to return, maybe not immediately this year, but I knew I would return. When the opportunity arose, I accepted it right away. Deep down, I expected I would wear Zvezda’s jersey again one day, and it came true. I feel fulfilled.”

He’ll now have a chance to work with coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos, who led Crvena Zvezda to three trophies last season, including the ABA League triumph.

We talked, and it seems great to me. I talked to future and former teammates. They all told me the best things about Sfairopoulos. He informed me about his way of working, and as I said, I look forward to all of it.

Crvena Zvezda has, therefore, made its sixth summer signing after adding Uroš Plavšić, Isaiah Canaan, Cody Miller-McIntyre, and Mike Daum. The club also brought back Nikola Kalinić.
