Justin Anderson joined FC Barcelona after debuting in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with Valencia last season.
Anderson, 30, inked a one-year contract, the team announced on Thursday.
Moving his talents to the premier club continental competition of Europe, Anderson averaged 6.1 points and 2.2 rebounds per contest over 18 appearances with Valencia. In the 2023-24 edition of Spain’s Liga Endesa, he tallied 9.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per contest over 27 games played between Valencia and Rio Breogan. With Breogan, he added 14.8 points per game in the Basketball Champions League. Midway through his first campaign in Europe, he switched from the Lugo outfit to the Taronges in December.
The experienced winger emerged as the second summer signing for the Catalonia powerhouse following Kevin Punter. Other projected teammates extend to Alex Abrines, Dario Brizuela, Willy Hernangomez, Nicolas Laprovittola, James Nnaji, Jabari Parker, Joel Parra, Tomas Satoransky, and Jan Vesely. In addition, Joan Penarroya was hired as the new head coach earlier in the offseason.
Coming out of Virginia in 2015, Anderson was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks as the 21st pick of the draft. Before using his overseas options, he made his way to 257 games in the NBA, including 15 in the Playoffs. Beyond the Mavs, he played for the Indiana Pacers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Brooklyn Nets, Atlanta Hawks, and Philadelphia 76ers. Also, he played in 151 G League games with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Long Island Nets, Raptors 905, and Texas Legends.
