Uros Trifunovic emerges as the latest departure from Partizan

The rebuild at Partizan Mozzart Bet extended to Uros Trifunovic and an exit for the Serbian forward after six years with the Belgrade outfit.

Trifunovic, 23, was officially released on Friday.

During the offseason, Kevin Punter joined FC Barcelona, P.J. Dozier signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Aleksa Avramovic moved to CSKA, Zach LeDay returned to EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, Alen Smailagic switched to Zalgiris, Dubai landed Danilo Andjusic, Bahcesehir Koleji added Jaleen Smith and Mateusz Ponitka, and Frank Kaminsky was also released.

The latest departure, Trifunovic made his way to 54 games of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague over the last two seasons, In the 2023-24 edition of Europe’s premier club continental competition, he tallied 2.8 points and 1.5 rebounds per contest over 19 appearances, including five starts. He lasted 13:54 minutes per game for the team coached by Zeljko Obradovic. At the regional level, he put in 5.9 points and 2.7 rebounds per game over 19 appearances in the AdmiralBet ABA League.

Trifunovic joined Partizan in 2018. Following loan assignments with Mladost and Mega Bemax, he returned and his role steadily grew. During his stint, he was crowned ABA champion in 2023 and contributed to winning the Radivoj Korac Cup in 2019 and 2020. Also, he was capped at the senior level with Serbia.

Gabriel Iffe Lundberg, Vanja Marinkovic, and Frank Ntilikina are confirmed incoming players for head coach Obradovic. Scanning the market for more players, Carlik Jones is among the projected further additions.
