Reinforcing itself ahead of the upcoming EuroLeague season, Olimpia Milano found the right backup for Josh Nebo in the center position, signing the 25-year-old David McCormack.
“I’m excited to join a traditionally winning club with the chance to learn a lot from teammates much more experienced than me and from a coach with a great reputation. I will try to do whatever it takes to help the team continue to win”, he first commented on the club’s website.
In the 2023-24 Basketball Champions League campaign, he moved from one Turkish team to another, starting the season with Darussafaka and ending in Galatasaray. With the red-and-yellow side, he put up 13.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, without reaching the Quarter-Finals.
During the clash in last year’s BCL Play-Ins, the 25-year-old center already faced an Italian team, being a factor under the basket for Galatasaray in the series victory over Derthona Basket.
Prior to this last season, he had one first taste of overseas basketball once again with another Turkish team, playing in the 2022-23 FIBA Europe Cup with Besiktas. On that occasion, he only had 11 points and 7 rebounds in one single game.
Before moving to Europe, he played four years of college basketball with the Kansas Jayhawks, winning the 2021-22 NCAA Championship.
