Tamir Blatt is sticking around with Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv.

Blatt, 27, signed a two-year contract extension, the team announced on Sunday.

Per the press release:Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv secured Tamir Blatt services by signing him to a contract for two more seasons. It is a significant move as part of the roster building process, as the Israeli point guard showed great qualities in his first year with the team. The champions’ number 45 led the Israeli league in assists per minute (0.29), and proved his worth in the EuroLeague with his long range shooting and court vision.

“I am happy and proud to continue with our team”, affirmed Tamir Blatt. “Thanks to the management, the coaching staff and obviously the fans for their support and trust. I am looking forward to the road ahead and for many shared accomplishments. Yalla Maccabi!”.

“I am very happy that Tamir will continue with us,” coach Oded Ketch told the club’s official website. “This is about the continuity of a player with a strong character. He made another step forward with his game and had a significant part in the special season we had. Tamir will start his fourth Euroleague season and I have no doubt that he will continue to improve and help us with the challenges on the way.”

“I am pleased that Tamir stays with us”, proclaimed Maccabi’s sporting director, Avi Even. “Last season he became one of our team’s leaders and anchors on all competitions. I am sure that the joint path of Tamir and Maccabi will lead to a lot of success”.

Tamir Blatt joined Maccabi in the summer of 2023 after spending two years at ALBA Berlin. He found his role with the yellows and his ability to feed bigs like Jasiel Rivero, Roman Sorkin and Josh Nebo became one of the strongest offensive go-tos for the team. During the EuroLeague regular season, TB contributed 7 PPG on 39.3% from deep, along with 4.8 APG in nearly 19 minutes on average.

In Israeli competition, Blatt came off the bench and made an impact with 8.9 PPG and 6.3 APG in about 22 minutes. He upped himself in the final two series of the season, when he dished out 7.8 assists per game en route to his first career Israeli championship.”
