After his 2023 FIBA World Cup heroics with the Latvian national team, Arturs Zagars moved to Fenerbahce but was loaned to the Lithuanian club Wolves BC. Unfortunately, he was sidelined with an injury for a long period, but in the upcoming season, he will fight for his place within Sarunas Jasikevicius’ squad.
As the Turkish champions officially announced, Zagars is added to Fenerbahce‘s squad for the upcoming 2024/25 season.
“Considered one of the most significant talents in European basketball of his generation, Latvian point guard Arturs Zagars (1.90m, born 2000), who spent last season on loan at BC Wolves in Lithuania, will wear the Fenerbahçe Beko jersey in the 2024-25 season.
Due to an unfortunate injury, Zagars missed part of the 2023-24 season but played in 19 Lithuanian League games for BC Wolves, averaging 10.2 points, 3.4 assists, and 1.8 rebounds. Recently, he represented Latvia in the Olympic Qualifiers, posting averages of 9.3 points, 5.0 assists, and 3.0 rebounds in three games.
We welcome our athlete back to the Fenerbahçe family and wish him a successful season with our team,” as officially announced by Fenerbahce.
The Istanbul club already added a couple of new faces with Wade Baldwin, Erten Gazi, Devon Hall, Bonzie Colson, and Nicolo Melli signing deals, while Nigel Hayes-Davis extended his contract.
