Theo Maledon left ASVEL in 2020 to pursue his NBA dream, but after four years, he seems to be on his way back.

According to Gabriel Pantel Jouvet from BeBasket, the French guard is about to return to the EuroLeague and the Villeurbanne club.

Per his information, Maledon should complete the ASVEL squad for the upcoming season.

The 23-year-old played for the Villeurbanne club from 2017 to 2020, winning the LBN Pro A League in 2019, Best Young Player honors, and the French Cup, where he was proclaimed the Final MVP.

The Philadelphia 76ers selected him as the 34th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft but traded him to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

He also played for the Charlotte Hornets and Phoenix Suns, making 177 regular-season appearances and averaging 7.8 points, 2.9 assists, and 2.8 rebounds.

After a disappointing last season, ASVEL made an overhaul of the squad, adding players like Shaquille Harrison, Admiral Schofield, Melvin Ajinca, Tarik Black, and Neal Sako over the summer. It’s expected that with Maledon, they will seal the team for the upcoming 2024/25 season.
