Matthew Strazel recently put a silver medal around his neck at the Olympic Games in Paris, but he has even more to celebrate for: AS Monaco made official his contract extension until 2027.
In the 2023-24 EuroLeague, coming off the bench for Sasa Obradovic‘s team, the 22-year-old exciting guard put up 4.4 points and 1.8 assists per game with the red-and-white side.
Savior of the French national team with an incredible shot in the group stage at the Olympic Games against Japan, he went on to average 5.0 points in the tournament. That was his first major International competition where the 2002-born guard represented his country.
Prior to joining AS Monaco two years ago as part of a stacked backcourt with Mike James, Jordan Loyd, and Elie Okobo, he was playing with ASVEL. Between the two French league powerhouses, he collected four straight LNB championships (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024) despite his young age.
