The whole saga around Bruno Caboclo and his future not linked anymore with Partizan Belgrade may be close to finding an ending. According to Mozzart Sport, the 28-year-old skilled center shouldn’t be present at the black-and-white Serbian team’s presentation for the 2024-25 campaign.
Joining Zeljko Obradovic‘s team as the 2023-24 season already started in both the ABA League and EuroLeague, he had an instant impact in Belgrade and concluded the year with 9.4 points and 4.0 rebounds per game in the strongest European competition.
This summer, Bruno Caboclo stole the show by repping the Brazil national team’s jersey. First, by upsetting the Latvian hosts in the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Riga, averaging 17.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per game to book a ticket to this year’s Olympics.
Then, he was probably the biggest asset for Aleksandar Petrovic’s team both in the group phase in Lille and in the final knockout stage in Paris, putting up similar numbers. He promised 17.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, displaying 33 points and 17 boards against Japan to progress to the Quarter-Finals.
It’s the second consecutive year that Bruno Caboclo won’t start the season with the team he supposedly had a valid contract during the summer. The same applied in 2023 when Reyer Venice first announced him as the newest arrival and then was deprived of his talent before the season even started.
