Projected to be selected in the 2025 NBA draft, Dame Sarr earned a permanent spot on the senior squad of FC Barcelona.

Sarr, 18, was promoted to the senior team, Barca announced on Wednesday.

Logging two appearances in the 2023-24 edition of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, the promising guard was limited to three minutes of action and missed all of his three shots. At the domestic level, he became the second youngest player to debut in Spain’s Liga Endesa during the 2022-23 season, a few months after moving his talents to the Catalonia giant. He went on to play in five ACB games over the last two seasons, averaging 2.6 points per contest.

Focusing his duties at the senior level between the new installments of the EuroLeague and domestic competitions in Spain, the Treviso native is likely to be heading to a significant increase in playing time next season. He will be teaming up with Alex Abrines, Justin Anderson, Dario Brizuela, Youssoupha Fall, Willy Hernangomez, Chimezie Metu, Nicolas Laprovittola, Juan Nunez, Jabari Parker, Joel Parra, Kevin Punter, Tomas Satoransky, and Jan Vesely under the guidance of new head coach Joan Penarroya.

Representing Italy in the 2024 FIBA U18 EuroBasket, Sarr tallied 13.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 3.1 steals, and 0.7 blocks per contest over seven appearances in Tampere. His efforts combined with a team ranking of ninth overall. Earlier international experience went from the 2022 U16 EuroBasket to the 2023 U18 EuroBasket.
