Heading to the 2024-25 season, Filip Petrusev is under contract with Olympiacos but might end up with Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet.

Team president Nebojsa Covic discussed a possible reunion for the 24-year-old Serbian forward/center with the Belgrade outfit.

“We have not reached an agreement, yet. We were in talks,” he told Serbian television network Prva referring to initiating negotiations.

“He expressed his desire,” he revealed the player considering his options, “We worked on it and are working on it, especially with Vezenkov back.”

“They have another problem at the moment and that is the injury of Moustapha Fall. I do not know if he is recovered,” he added.

Spending the 2022-23 season at Zvezda, Petrusev logged 34 appearances in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, besides capturing league and cup titles in Serbia. Following three appearances in the NBA between the Sacramento Kings and Philadelphia 76ers to start the 2023-24 campaign, he switched to Olympiacos in November. Resurfacing in Europe’s premier club continental competition, he tallied 6.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest, helping his side reach the Final Four.

Countering comments about Petrusev and Covic referring to the injury status of Fall, the Reds issued a response.
