The President of Partizan Belgrade, Ostoja Mijailović, spoke about the upcoming event to present the new squad on August 19th and the possibility of an outdoor tournament in Belgrade.
“The presentation of the players is a special event that we have introduced starting with this season. It will be spectacular and unique,” Mijailović said to Serbian outlet Alo.
Partizan already organized an open-air event before last season, playing against Fuenlabrada in a spectacular atmosphere at the Tašmajdan court.
“I’m really proud of that event. That’s history. We are planning an outdoor tournament this season as well. It will most likely be played with four teams on our courts in Kalemegdan. Our marketing team is still working out all the details.”
As for the team that Željko Obradović will have at his disposal, Mijailović promises surprises.
“Partizan announced only a few names, then we decided to present the team differently. Journalists were writing about our reinforcements all the time. They got some things right and some things wrong. There will be surprises,” he declared.
Despite Partizan’s almost complete overhaul of the squad, Mijailović is convinced they have built a great new team.
“The guys who signed for Partizan are of exceptional quality, all of them. I’m proud of the work we have done in the transfer window. We had to find a solution for the guys who were under contract and sign new players in a short time. I am very pleased with our work,” Mijailović concluded.
