Playing EuroLeague basketball for the last three campaigns in Milan, a new challenge awaits now for Devon Hall. The 29-year-old American guard is preparing ahead of his first season with Fenerbahce.
Talking with FB TV’s 40+, he mentioned the conversations he had with Nicolò Melli and Gigi Datome before signing with the yellow-and-blue Turkish powerhouse, as both of his former teammates in Italy had – or will have again, in Melli’s case – experiences with the side from Istanbul.
“Of course, I spoke to them first. We were living in the same complex with [Gigi] Datome, I consulted him immediately. Then we spoke to [Nicolò] Melli. They said that they enjoyed it very much here and that it was a very beautiful place, achieving incredible success“, he opened.
“It was not difficult for me to decide after speaking to them. Me and my wife wanted to see a different part of the world and I thought that this was the right choice. When the phone call came, I did not hesitate to answer to such a historical club“, Devon Hall continued.
He also spoke about the first meetings with Sarunas Jasikevicius. “He pays a lot of attention to detail, I’m eager to learn and I will try to learn a lot from him. We have been together for two days, I ask a lot of questions, and the more I can learn, the better for me“, the former Milan guard said.
Devon Hall is coming off his third consecutive year in the EuroLeague, where he averaged 8.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. With Ettore Messina’s red-and-white team, he won three consecutive Italian League championships by beating Virtus Bologna in each of every LBA Finals.
