Injury didn’t stop Partizan’s Isiaha Mike: “We have a lot of potential”

Partizan Belgrade presented a completely new team for the upcoming 2024/25 season, but unfortunately, one of the summer signings got injured at the very beginning of the preseason.

Isiaha Mike suffered a calf injury and might miss the entire preparations. However, he tries to stay positive and work as much as he can.

I’m doing well. I have a calf tear, so therapy and exercises are ahead of me. I can train, but nothing that puts strain on the calf. A check-up and a new MRI are coming up soon. We’ll see; maybe after that, I’ll be able to increase the intensity a bit,” Mike said to Meridian Sport.

Even though he won’t be able to train normally with the rest of the team, he believes he’ll catch up with everyone in time.

Of course, I felt bad, especially because this is my first season in the EuroLeague. I wanted to come here, fit in, play the preseason games, and get used to what Coach Obradović expects from me. I can still achieve everything I planned. It will just take a little more time.

Talking about his new team, the Canadian player has high expectations.

There’s a lot of work ahead of us, just like for all the other teams. We’ve only been together for a week and a half. We have a lot of potential to be a very good team. With a little more work, I think we can be excellent.”
